It is an ongoing goal of mine to really "be" in the moment and I've found one on the side effects is me noticing beauty in my surroundings whatever they may be. Yesterday was a textbook rainy fall day. In the parking lot heading out after work, I was stopped in my tracks by the various colored leaves strewn about contrasting the shiny wet asphalt. A few still had lingering raindrops sitting like jewels on them. Snap time!
Later I was taking out trash and had my breath taken away by the rosy glow of the sunset reflected on wet streets which bounced it all around. I scurried back in for my camera and got a couple of shots I posted on Facebook. They were beautiful but lacked the intense glow I first saw. A friend commented on Facebook, "You see beauty everywhere." Naturally I "liked" that comment and replied, "I try. It makes for a much happier life."
